Taking things personally other people’s words or behaviours can affect you. Their actions and behaviour do not describe the people they are attacking, nor do they reveal who others are. They are revealing the pain, the darkness, the suffering and the many wounds present within them. Therefore, it is important to note that that you not take things personally. It is not about you. It’s about them.
Don’t make their pain your pain if You are taking things personally
Don’t make their pain your pain and make their darkness your darkness. Help them if you can, by giving them your love, compassion and understanding, and by helping them understand that love is their true nature, while fear is nothing but an illusion. And if that’s something you can’t do, make sure you don’t feed their pain by reacting in an unkind and unloving way, and by confusing the behaviour of the person. That would only create more suffering into their lives, and into your own life by allowing yourself to take things personally.
Allow them the space to contribute their very best
Find the best in people and treat them properly. If you are running a business, your business will improve when you treat your employees feel good around you. This will ultimately allow them the space to contribute their very best to ensure that your business becomes successful. Be passionate about whatever it is you do and people will react positively towards you.
You deserve to be true to yourself
Take steps to refuse to be at the effect of negativity and adversity. If you fall, pick yourself up and be proactive. You deserve to be true to yourself by serving your ideals and always consider what is deeply meaningful to you. What is important to you. A leader operates in whatever is their best interest and does not take things personally.
Whatever happens around you, don’t take it personally. Nothing other people do is because of you. It is because of themselves. All people live in their own dream, in their own mind; they are in a completely different world from the one we live in. When we take something personally, we assume that they know what is in our world, and we try to impose our world on their world.
Become the sovereign ruler of your emotions
When you stop taking things personally, you become the sovereign ruler of your emotions and your actions – regardless of what others think or expect of you. If you can take it to expert level, you can be the boss of yourself and your life – regardless of external pressures or circumstances.
Challenges, we all experience in life daily. Have the integrity to overcome it. Remember, do not take things personally.
Also take not to heart all words that are spoken; lest you hear your servant curse you:
Hold a picture of yourself long and steadily enough in your mind’s eye, and you will be drawn toward it.
